 Fred Willard Responds to ‘Lewd Conduct’ Charges » Gossip - It has been an interesting week for Fred Willard, who was pinched by the police for lewd conduct in an adult movie theater on Wednesday night (July 18).

And now the “Anchorman” actor is speaking out against the allegations that his actions were somehow in violation of California law.

As he left his lawyer’s office, Willard told the paparazzi that the whole thing is a “big misunderstanding. It didn’t happen. It’s all being straightened out.”

Apparently, it’s only illegal to pleasure oneself in the view of people who “might be offended,” and given that the other four patrons were all viewing hardcore pornography at the time, it’s unlikely they’ll be coming forward as complaining witnesses.
